Follow the trail.
Find the feeling.

Kilsbergen rises steeply out of the Närke plain 20 km west of Örebro, with narrow trails through spruce forest and views over the forest lakes.

The courses follow the Bergslagsleden trail and the mountain-bike trails around Ånnaboda, with boardwalks over the streams and a last climb up to Sånnabodahöjden just before the finish.

“The course has most of what a trail runner could wish for, such as lakes, technical trails, views, climbing, boardwalks, enchanted forests and beautiful nature.”

Fredrik Backéus (translated from Swedish)

When does registration for Blue Mountain TrailRun 2027 open?

Registration opens on 1 December. The race is on Saturday 29 May 2027. Leave your e-mail address on this page and we will e-mail you when it opens.

Which course suits a beginner?

6 km Östra Ånnabodasjön: The short loop around the lake, a good first trail race. If you want more, there are 10, 15 and 21 km, all starting and finishing in the same place. The course picker on this page suggests a course after three questions.

Is there a cut-off time?

None of the courses has a cut-off time. We wait for everyone at the finish.

Where is the race and how do I get there?

Start and finish are at First Camp Ånnaboda in Kilsbergen, about 22 km west of Örebro. Directions, parking and accommodation are under Getting here.

By car: Örebro 22 km, about 25 min; Karlskoga 36 km, about 40 min; Karlstad 101 km, about 1 h 30 min; Västerås 117 km, about 1 h 30 min; Eskilstuna 110 km, about 1 h 35 min; Linköping 142 km; Stockholm 221 km; Gothenburg 307 km. The aid stations serve water, sports drink from UMARA and something small to eat: fruit, sweets or something salty. The course maps show where the stations are. Cups are provided, but bring your own cup or flask if you can, so there is less litter. Your own support is allowed as long as it does not get in the way of other runners.
