The start crosses the ski bridge and climbs to the viewpoint on Sånnabodahöjden. Then follow 1.5 km of mountain-bike trail 6 (green) before the course joins stage 9 of the Bergslagsleden trail, Ånnaboda–Blankhult, and follows it all the way.

Stage 9 is hilly, technical and beautiful. The first aid station is where the course crosses Trolldalsvägen, after 4.4 km. On the way to Blankhult you pass the three forest lakes Norra Ånnabodasjön, Göljan and Stora Dammsjön, and take on the climb to the Kilsbergsstugan cabin at Tomasboda. Just before Blankhult, at 10 km, there is water and energy to refill with.

From Blankhult you follow mountain-bike trail 1 (black) on winding forest paths down towards Blackstahyttan. Before you get there the course turns right, onto the paths through the Lövbrickan nature reserve. Just after the reserve, where the course crosses Trolldalsvägen again at 16.5 km, is the next water and energy station. Then you continue on mountain-bike trail 2 and cross the Göljebäcken stream.

  4. A pier out into Södra Ånnabosjön, with forest around the lake

After about a kilometre comes the climb with a capital C. It leads up towards Sånnabodahöjden, 266 m above sea level, where you are rewarded with a wide view over the Närke plain. From there it is only about 300 metres to the finish at First Camp Ånnaboda.
