The start crosses the ski bridge and climbs to the viewpoint on Sånnabodahöjden. Then you follow the same route as the 21 km: 1.5 km of mountain-bike trail 6 (green) and then stage 9 of the Bergslagsleden trail towards Blankhult. The first aid station is where the course crosses Trolldalsvägen, after 4.4 km.
The stage is hilly, technical and beautiful. You pass Norra Ånnabodasjön and Göljan on the way to Stora Dammsjön. There, after just over 7 km, the course leaves the long loop and takes Alvars stig through the forest, narrow and twisting, until it meets the 21 km course again after just under 9 km.

The rest of the way is the same as for the long course. Where you cross Trolldalsvägen on the way home, after about 11 km, is the water and energy station. Then you continue on mountain-bike trail 2 and cross the Göljebäcken stream.

After about a kilometre comes the climb with a capital C. It leads up towards Sånnabodahöjden, 266 m above sea level, where you are rewarded with a wide view over the Närke plain. From there it is only about 300 metres to the finish at First Camp Ånnaboda.
